The Solution

We arrived on-site with our fully electric cherry picker, which provided safe and quiet access to the property. Upon inspection, we discovered several underlying issues contributing to the water ingress:

1. Blocked Gutters and Downpipe: Moss and debris had clogged the system, causing water to overflow behind the gutter and down the cladding.

2. Blocked Weep Vents: Removing the cladding above the window revealed rotten timbers and a poorly installed substructure, which was blocking the weep vents designed to direct water away from the building.

Dob got to work:

• Cleared the moss and debris blocking the gutters and downpipe.

• Removed the cladding and replaced the rotten timber substructure, ensuring the weep vents could function as intended.

• Caulked the gap above the window to prevent further water ingress.

• Reinstalled the cladding, leaving the system in a safe and functional state.

The Result

The repair was completed quickly and efficiently preventing further water ingress and ensuring the building was properly protected from the elements. The client was thrilled with the result, which saved them the need for scaffolding or multiple contractors.
